The Australian Institute of ICT (AIICT) is proud to announce the launch of its newest course: Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals.
A boot camp program lasting up to five weeks, students will have the opportunity to flexibly train in the basics of data management and analysis – all under the context of Microsoft Azure services.
We explore the details of Microsoft Azure below, the benefits of training with AIICT, and your potential career pathways upon course completion.
What is Microsoft Azure?
Microsoft Azure is a public cloud computing platform of over 200 products and cloud-related services. Its main solutions come in the form of Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – allowing businesses to replace or supplement their on-premise servers with reliable virtual resources.
Statistics show that 95% of Fortune 500 companies now trust their business with Azure’s solutions, as the platform offers answers to a myriad of industry challenges – including those in the financial, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and government sector. Their services are scalable, meaning you only pay for what you currently need (increasing or decreasing resources as necessary); and being open-source, are also supportive of nearly any operating system, language, or framework.
Additionally, the data your store through Azure is housed in global data centres, with 24/7 tech support.
All these features make Microsoft Azure a highly sought-after cloud provider, thus placing high demand on the skills to navigate and manage such tools. AIICT’s Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals course can help equip its students with the knowledge to work with such cloud platforms, helping boost their opportunities in the industry.
What will you learn through AIICT’s Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals course?
Our Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals course is aligned to fit the knowledge tested in the DP-900 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals certification exam. This is exam is designed to certify those just starting out in the field of cloud computing, exploring core data concepts and basic skills related to Microsoft Azure’s data services.
As such, AIICT’s boot camp program aims to equip students with fundamental database concepts in cloud environments (these including big data, analytics, relational data, and non-relational data) and basic skills in managing both general and Microsoft Azure-related cloud data services. Students will also familiarise themselves with different types of data workloads (i.e., analytical and transactional) and how they fit in the context of Azure.
The Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals certification can be used to prepare one for further certifications under specific Azure roles, such as the Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Database Administrator certifications. However, this certification is not a prerequisite for any of them.
Why study Microsoft Azure with AIICT?
AIICT’s Microsoft Azure course not only helps prepare you for certification – its training is also flexibly delivered online, helping you study at a time, place, and pace that suits you and your schedule best. This means those currently in employment, tending to family-related duties, or tied up with other personal commitments can build the skills they need with minimal disruption to their current responsibilities. You’ll be provided with a guided schedule and constant contact with Microsoft-certified trainers to help you throughout your online learning journey.
Additionally, you needn’t go at your course alone – AIICT’s online learning portal offers you plenty of online opportunities to network with other like-minded, aspiring professionals in the cloud computing field. You’ll also get weekly virtual “live” sessions with your trainers to ask any questions and receive personalised course mentoring.
Finally, our course also provides its students with helpful tips, resources, and strategies for signing up and successfully passing the DP-900 proctored exam. You’ll also be given a practice exam and exam voucher to further help you with your studies.
What are your career pathways upon completing the course?
With quintillions of data created each day, companies need the skills to sift through, organise, and interpret such information to help further their business.
This is where data scientists come in – professionals with the keen ability to gather and extract meaning from large sets of raw, unstructured data, helping pinpoint new business answers or solutions. The average data scientist earns about $116,741 AUD per year, according to Talent.com.
Data administrators are responsible for processing relevant business data into a reliable data model. They’re tasked with sifting through the information available to them, selecting those to be stored away for further use or reference. They may also help monitor a business’ data flow and may break down such information to be easily accessed and understood by non-technical users.
The average data administrator earns about $76,085 AUD per year, according to Talent.com.
Similarly, to data scientists, data analysts are tasked with the complex assignment of collecting, analysing, and interpreting raw data to strategize new business solutions. However, while data scientists are focused on developing new ways of gathering and examining data to be used by analysts – data analysts are more focused on the actual assessment and study of the information, itself.
As such, those in this role typically possess strong mathematical, statistical, and – of course – analytical skills. According to Talent.com, the average data analyst earns about $103,894 AUD per year.
