Initially joining us as a dedicated student, Sue’s journey at Lumify Learn evolved as she transitioned from learning to becoming a valued asset of the organisation. We talked to Sue about her motivations for joining Lumify Learn and how this choice has influenced her career trajectory.
What initially inspired you to enrol in courses with Lumify Learn, and how did this decision contribute to your career journey?
"I was in recovery from cancer treatment and looking for a way to move forward with my life. I had been in business in Digital Marketing for many years but wanted to move into a different area. The Digital Jobs program excited me. I thought that the project management course would add to my experience in a useful way and meld with my previous experience and take me into related areas in my field where I could contribute something of value."
Can you share a specific experience or skill you acquired through Lumify Learn's courses that has been instrumental in your current role with the organization?
"My experience as a student with Lumify Learn has given me the opportunity to understand the student journey and therefore support students in a meaningful and productive way. I understand the pressures, the challenges, the anxieties and worries that students go through. I am able to show them that they are not alone in these experiences and that they can move forward and succeed."
"I am a mature age student and employee. Lumify Learn has always valued me regardless of my age. I was at an age where I thought that I would never work again and Lumify Learn showed me that I had much to still contribute and I will always be grateful for that."
